Property & Inventory We Handle
US Claims Solutions inventories and values machinery, electronics, retail stock, restaurant and medical equipment, office furniture and fixtures, building systems, warehouse stock, freight and specialty property on commercial losses nationwide.
01
Machinery & industrial equipment
CNC machines · Presses · Conveyors · Compressors · Transformers · Cranes · Forklifts · Process equipment
Machinery is the hardest property class to inventory and the easiest to undervalue. USCS consultants record each unit by manufacturer, model, serial number, capacity and year, photograph nameplates and damage, and research replacement cost against current dealer and rebuilder markets. Because much of this property has a strong secondary market, the same inspection that documents the loss also identifies what can be recovered through salvage rather than written off.
02
Electronics & IT hardware
Servers · Network gear · Workstations · Point-of-sale systems · AV equipment · Telephony
Electronics depreciate quickly and are frequently replaced with newer specifications, which makes Like Kind & Quality research the decisive step. Consultants record model and serial numbers, configuration and age, then price current equivalents rather than discontinued originals. Smoke and water exposure often leaves equipment functional but unreliable, so condition documentation matters as much as the count.
03
Specialty property
Firearms · Jewelry · Collectibles · Artwork · Antiques · Musical instruments
Specialty property sits outside standard price guides and usually falls under a policy special limit, so it needs its own treatment. USCS consultants inventory and photograph firearms, jewelry, collectibles and artwork individually, record identifying marks and provenance where available, and research comparable sales. This is an area of experience within a commercial contents assignment, not a standalone appraisal service.
Firearm appraisal and inventory
Firearms are recorded individually by make, model, calibre and serial number, photographed, and valued against comparable sales rather than a catalogue figure. Condition, modifications and accessories all move the number. Most policies apply a special limit to firearms, so the count and the identification decide how much of the loss is recoverable.
Jewelry appraisal and inventory
Jewelry is inventoried piece by piece with metal, stones, weights, hallmarks and any accompanying documentation recorded and photographed. Where an item was separately scheduled, the schedule is reconciled against what is actually present. Unscheduled jewelry usually falls under a policy special limit, which is why an itemised count matters more here than almost anywhere else.
Collectible and fine art appraisal
Collectibles, artwork and antiques are recorded with maker, period, edition, condition and provenance where it exists, and researched against auction and dealer results for comparable pieces. Condition after smoke or water exposure frequently matters more than the original value, because restoration cost and residual market value drive the outcome.
